Airstream Skydeck 390: Top of the heap?

I don't normally post about ads in our Classifieds, but I had never seen this vehicle before. Is it the most luxurious Airstream of all?

Apart from the striking fact that it has a stairway to its roof, with lots of bench seating up there, take a look at the (admittedly small) photos. It's amazing! Sleeps ten!

I'll stop with the exclamation marks now, but this just blew me away. Oh sure, there are lots of extremely posh motorhomes out there, but I had no idea that there was an Airstream this beautiful.

Yep, the Skydeck 390 is a very impressive coach. Saw one at last years Petit Lemans at Road Atlanta. I just don't like the layout for anything other then a group trip, but I guess that's what it was designed for.

The Airstream Skydeck was a big deal for a short time back around 2005/2006. They were mainly purchased by companies for promotional purposes. They were kind of cool, but not a mainstream RV.

They will always show up, people don't hold onto RVs forever. It's hard to get the one you want when there are only 26 total. That means there are only about 10 that were ever made up as full motorhomes. Of course, they were also available as bunk models if there are several of you traveling. I think there are ~8 of those.

If that will do, here is a VERY pretty bunk model for sale for $96K:

Sorry, the pics will go away when the sale is over

As an owner I can tell you, they are SO SLOW. You could never win a Nascar race, barely make it around the track before the race is over. Unless you are racing dump trucks you might as well just sit and watch the race go by.

Oh, that's what you meant...

Wow! The two cardinal and gold Skydecks are for sale at the same time. I think they are the only ones in that color. If you want the racing flag or not, both options are available. Pete where are you advertising your unit? Where all did you take yours during your travels?
