Yes it did, but like most things FB, it's so damned annoying I closed the link. An FB pop-up kept chasing me around the screen to the point I couldn't read anything. I loath FB.

Just my two cents.

<edit> Ah, hang on just a moment. This FB post was made on 4/1/2015. April fools edition, perhaps?</edit>

Text from the FB post reads as follows. Will be interesting to see whether the design sketch has any resemblance at all to what they eventually produce.

"GMC and Airstream announced their plans to market a modern incarnation blending timeless Airstream lines with GMC's iconic radius-bodied “Classic” aluminum motorhome, originally produced between 1973 and 1978. Expected to debut in 2017, the new “G-Series” coach has been designed in partnership with BMW Group Designworks- USA, Newbury Park, Calif., to reflect the unique curved body that has become synonymous with GMC motorhomes. The coach will be badged and powered by GMC and the bodies will be built by Airstream. (Via press release 4/1/15)"

Look for Airstream to make a cabon fibre motorhome long before they ever make an aluminum one again.

I like the G series profile which mimics my 310s proportions, versus the 94-96 Classic anteater style.

Cheers
Tony

Wide body Mercedes.

I was at JC last month and saw lots of cut-away Mercedes chassis. Like Ford has been doing for years. I was told that they are going to make a wide body with a small slide-out. Fiberglass body. The Mercedes apparently still has some available capacity.

Good info - looks like Airstream will stay with Mercedes Sprinter for their new Class-C motorhome.

That article is 10 years old. I remember it first time round. Was considered economically unviable

I wrote an article for Airstream Life that covered the classic motorhome history, and the progress Airstream was making in developing a new model with BMW. They had a plant scheduled to be built for the construction. It never happened. But then the business was in a big slump at that time too.
This was like 12 years ago I guess. The Skydeck was interesting, but to me the motorhome should have some design connection to Airstream. Like the 360 had.

That's something custom built in Europe. Appears to be an Airstream MH body on the frame of a Russian or MB military truck frame. Probably would be a big hit with those folks who boondock all the time!!

It's actually a MAN KAT1 chassis (http://expeditionmotorhome.com/monst...eam-motorhome/)
