Don't fret, the topic police won't get after you for one little offense.

Actually, the best ones nearly always do. Problem is finding them again.

Nda

I'm under a NDA and can not speak about specifics. I can say that it's going to be amazing! Also, both of your assumptions of chassis and Class are incorrect! :-)

Inactive? Maybe we had nothing useful to add and have been waiting with baited breathe since last October when Airstream said they were going to announce it?

Unless one is "fishing", it's "bated".

Were Gene and AgAu still present we'd be off on an extended riff with this one.

Same as brakes, not breaks. Same riff potential, not nearly so funny.

Picking up the slack for absent friends, it could be baited breath. Depends on what he's been eating. I seem to recall a song called "Bubba-san's bait shop and sushi bar." And another one by Antsy McClain called "Mable's Bait Shop and Sushi Bar." It's an idea whose time has come. Whatever you can't sell to diners today, sell to fishermen tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong. I like some sushi (my favorite is unagi), but a lot of it seems like the aquatic version of roadkill to me, with a lingering aftertaste that would definitely give me bait-breath. I guess that's why they serve it with saké. The warm-diesel-fuel flavor of saké kills the taste of anything that came before.

I stand corrected....the point I was trying to make is 60 posts and 11,000 views shows a lot of folks checking back in regularly but not posting, hoping for some news, but not getting any.

But I guess this point will also be missed to allow a discussion around the superfluous use of full stops?

OK - should be interesting. Can you at least give us a clue about when they will finally introduce this new motorhome?

I have seen it in person at the factory during a visit. It is close. I suppose that my NDA didn't say I couldn't speculate..right? ;-) I believe you will hear about it within 6 months.

Airstream is going to offer a new motorhome

Claimed spy photos posted on Sprinter B-Van sub forum thread titled:
"Should I switch to an Interstate in a year?"

Quote:
So, some spy photos....

AS_Proto_EXP_08.11.2017_TFL-2 by Tommie Lauer, on Flickr

AS_Proto_EXP_08.11.2017_TFL-1 by Tommie Lauer, on Flickr

The question is "when and how much?"

This is so similar to the Winnebago', and Tiffins 24TW & N24QW, built on the Sprinter chassis.... I noted the Tiffin has a 3200 w Onan Diesel Generator, 40 gallons of fresh water. The Winnebago ERA 70 M, has 44 gallons fresh water but only a 2500 watt LP generator. The Winnebago 24G, a Class C has an LP generator as well... not the best IMO

So, I will most likely be placing my Serenity 30RB, with Dodge TV up for sale in the late fall. And if I am able to get what I want for the complete package, I will no doubt go to a Class C, AS or if they are not ready, may have to go to an SOB. But, will get something AS to qualify for the WBCCI membership.

If this is the rumored new motorhome from Airstream it is what I expected. A Class-C to join an already crowded market for the best selling size of motorhome. I thought they might go with the new Ford Transit cab chassis, but instead it looks like they will stay with Mercedes Sprinters.

Yawn, 😏. Had a guy absolutely go goo, goo, gaa, gaa over my 83 310 turbo diesel this morning up here in Sable Falls Ontario. I can't imagine that rig getting the same kind of response from him.

Ditto!

In terms of the "look" at least Airstream got the new Basecamp right. The fridge may not work, but it looks great IMO.

How does this look, Wally?

That photo almost looks like fake panels being used to cover up the actual body panels. At least I hope they are because that is one FUGLY mess. Word I got was price will be in excess of $250K.
