airstream 435 ???????

Ok this is across the street from my inlaws... Don't know if they take it out or not.. Looks like it is in good shape

I was going to take a picture of the side but the battery went dead on the camera right as I was going to take it... It said it was a 4 hundred and something and I know it was hight than 25 but I can't remember..

Anyone know by just looking

I can go back and take a side shot if anyone is interested....

Looks like a 345 to me, which is 34 1/2 feet long.

Below is my 345 with the stock carbureted 454 engine on the AS Modified Chevy P-32 chassis. AS lengthened and put a Henschen tag axle under the rear of their longer units (325's and up).

Some of the earlier (and shorter) units had the 350 engine as stock. Through the years there were a few of the longer units built with Isuzu and Cummins diesel engines. Most (if not all) of the 370's were built on a Gillig chassis with a Ford 460 drive train.

Go to Fred's Airstream Archives (specifically the page linked below)

Fred's Airstream Archives - Class A Airstream and Argosy MotorHomes

for a fairly thorough (but unofficial) listing of the AS and Argosy MoHo's.

That looks to be a 25 or 28 footer, made at least into the late eighties.
There was also a shortie, 23 or so that AS sold as a hearse, talk about
last ride

Nope, that's a 345, which means 34 and 1/2 foot long. None of the shorter versions had the tag axle. Ours is on a Chevy P30 chasis and has the Isuzu diesel engine mounted up front. Most of the 345's have the Chevy 454 engine.

Wrong pic, he's asking about the shorter one. The last year for my 310 was
1984. AS built the 29 and 32 until 1990 and a 30' in 1991. They just got
bigger after that.

Ah, actually the funeral coach produced by the commercial division came in 27, 28 and 34.5 versions.

I've only seen (via internet) one 34.5 but am intimately acquainted with the 28 foot version.

If gas prices fall much more I'll be working from it again soon. For now it's a yard ornament in need of attention.

Wow I think 435 would be pretty close to right for that monster .

Elbundi, you did a great job putting that one together. I had to do a double take to figure it out .
