310 Questions

I am on the verge of buying a 1982 310. I have noticed that the cupholders at the sides of the entertainment center appear to be crushed/bent. Are there any replacements out there? Other than that MH has very low mileage, original clean interior, exceptionly well maintained. Anything else I should be looking for in this year 310.

Thanks

If they are the same as the ones on the side wall panel for driver and co-pilot they should pop out. Replacements are universal. I found new ones at my local RV store in chrome finish.
Welcome to the forums. Let us know what you find. Good luck with the 310.

Thank you for that info, however this is the part of the console that sits on top of the engine cover and wraps around the front of the Radio entertainment center. It is the same color as the dashboard (brown). I wonder if Airstream still has replacement parts for it.

Thanks to all with input

If the cup holders are only thing that needs attention on that 310, go for it!

Alumin-Naught,
Welcome to the forums. I used to live in Billerica and my parents and sister still live in No Andover. Nice to see another (potential) "Yankee Classic MoHo Owner" around here.

Chassis parts can be purchased at most "big box" auto retailers (NAPA, Pep Boys, AutZone). Ask for a parts for a Chevy P30 Chassis in your year with the 454 engine.

Most components in the coach are standard RV components (lights, furnace, fridge, etc.) and parts and replacements can be found at dealers, parts stores, camping world. etc.

Airstream specific items can be found at Airstream and a few online retailers who specialize in Airstreams and Vintage Trailers.

Good luck on your purchase. Make sure the engine, systems, generator, AC units, etc all check out before your purchase. If you truely only have a cub holder on the punch list then enjoy an amazing condition coach.

Thanks to all for your feedback. We have reseverations to fly to texas on Friday 11/10 to give it a final inspection. All we have had to look at was pictures, hundreds of pictures. Hopefully we'll be driving home this weekend in 310 style. Comming from a 2002 25ft Safari and upgrading to a 1982 310 is exciting yet scary. We'll be asking more stupid questions in the future just in case the left cup holder fails as well.

Thanks

We have a 1982 310 too. Is the one you're looking at a diesel?

We have only had ours since July and will finish up our projects in the next week to 10 days on getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving. Tammy Adams (newbie2006) is finishing up the drapes tonight and the last steps are being done by the garage on some welding.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you this weekend. If you're close enough come by and let's compare. Good luck and congratulations!

that wrap around thing with the cup holders is not available , its thermo plastic type stuff and does crack over time. You can remove it and try a repair with plastic weld or bondo stuff, sand and paint it.Or chuck it and make your own. I always found it too short on clearance for most drinks anyway.

The 310 is a 454 with 37,000 orig miles. Thanks for the info on the thermo plastic cup holders, hopefully we can repair it. Keeping the 310 in it's original condition is important to us. Even keeping the rust color rug and chairs, Austin Powers would love this! We hope we have seen everthing in the pics. We're trying to overlook the little things and focus on the shell, engine and appliances. Hope to have a picture to post soon.

I'm not sure of your planned route home but if you come through Louisville on your way, feel free to stop in and say hello. I would be happy to offer up some courtesy parking out front.

Thanks Steven,
We're in the process of mapping out our ride home to MA. It looks like it will take us about 33 hours, we have 2 1/2 days to do this in. Got to work on Monday. We will let you know if we're passing through.
