Well, as if I don't have enough to do, now I'm intrigued about polishing this thing. Ive read some of the posts on cleaning/polishing and the article @ Vintage Trailer that says that AS used alclad until mid-82.

So how can I tell if my '82 is alclad or not? Given the description of what old plasticoat looks like, I don't think this unit ever had it. It also doesn't look heavily oxidized... so my guess is that it's not alclad :>(

Welcome to the forums. Wiring can always be fun with these wonders of mechanics. I believe you will find one common ground attached to the chassis. The fan comes out easily with two screws, most likely needs a good cleaning. Do not be afraid to give the handle a good pull downward.
Good luck to you
