Pressure water tank filler - O ring - 1962 Bambi

I am trying to source a replacement "O" ring that fits inside the filler part (above the thread in the groove) that screws onto the neck of the pressure water tank.
I found some "O" rings that have the correct diameter but they are not thick enough to provide the proper seal. Mine is so worn out that it "looks" like it had a grove built into it. That may have been caused by the top of the neck that created that groove under pressure over the years. Does somebody know what this gasket should look like and where to find a replacement?
Thanks a lot.
Laurent

These "O" rings are available, but not all stores carry a good supply of sizes. I found one for my system at an NAPA store. They had many to choose from, from too thick to too thin.

Thanks Sam. I went to Napa, they didn't have any here in Austin but will keep trying the automotive parts store track... How thick would you say the "O" ring that you used is? My original one is so worn out that I can't tell...Thanks

I bought several different thicknesses and used the one that worked. It is a thirty mile trip to the NAPA store, so that was the economical route. I think it was either about 1/8" or 3/16" that worked. I am 1300 miles from my trailer right now so I cannot take a quick look easily.

Thanks. I finally got one from a specialized store here in Austin. Napa didn't carry them here. Thanks again for the help.

You can get O-rings of any size from mcmaster.com. You need the OD or ID and the thickness of the O-ring.
