Newest member asking the oldest question ever asked

Just signed up to get some expert advice. I have noticed this Airstream Bambi slowly sinking into the back yard of my neighbor. A few years ago I stopped by to ask if he was interested in selling and got a firm "NO".

Now I have noticed that they put up a fence, and the AS is on the "outside" of the yard, somaybe they are tired of looking at it. Maybe it is time to take another run at it. Here is the oldest question; "what's it worth?" the easy answer is "what ever you would pay"!

Assume it has sat for 15+ years without opening the door, in country were it has been freezing and thawing. Assume the interior is worthless.

Can anybody guess what year it may be from the pics?

what would be a fair offer?

Looks to me to be a 1963 Bambi.

It's definitely between '58 & '63 based on the number of end cap panels. The only thing that is throwing me off a little is the front window - by '63 they were a single window whereas this one is split into three panels like the earlier 50's models. But with the added A/C it could have been modified - it's definitely not original with that A/C unit there.

Do you have more pictures (especially of the back) or a a VIN # from the plate by the door? It's tough from just that one side, but based on the configuration of the streetside access panels - it still think it's a '63 Bambi like these:

Bambi 2
Bambi 5
Bambi 6

As far as price, if it is a '63 Bambi in the shape you describe, it would be in the $1900-3800 range based on this Price vs Condition criteria. There's lots of great information there - take some time to read it so you have your homework done prior to trying to negotiate a deal. Good luck!

The serial number is
163T299

I assume that means it's 1963

owner let me look inside at it looks like it has been gutted except the shower stall & stove.

As much as I enjoy a project, I probably need to let this one pass.
