Hey, thought I would register on the forum and learn from fellow Airstream owners. I have a 1963 Bambi that belonged to my aunt and uncle since new. They used it until their health declined. I ended up saving it from the grown up yard at my father's property. The zolatone and wooden veneer had been painted over so I put a fresh coat of paint on the inside. I sort of went against the "vintage" grain by upholstering it in a camo/olive drab theme. I have started the polishing process but found it labor intensive so I've been satisfied with just a sheen instead of the chrome look.
Welcome lil63bambi,
I think you will find this forum very infomational. It sounds like you have a nice trailer, please post pictures. We live just north of Bowling Green, KY lots of nice places to camp.
We have a 1963 Bambi too! Just incase you find you need a repair on something... check out my hubby's thread on his restoration, likely to answer questions if you have some! Lots of pics and how-to's! Floor Replacement 63 Bambi

You have a little gem on your hands, one of the most sought after trailers.
Very cool that it's been "one owner since new" and in the family.

Oh well, if you have time you can find the pics of the little Bambi scattered through the other pics of Colorado and other outdoor places I pretty well stay. I have a 1972 31 ft. Airstream Land Yacht parked on a few acres just outside Land Between the Lakes Nat'l Rec area. I hoped to renovate an old partial log house on the property but the termites had worked it over so I had it removed and replaced it with the big camper.
