Interior Light Covers for '62 Bambi

We have a 62 Bambi and we are just about finished restoring much of the inside. My wife would like to replace the lamp covers or replace the material that lays inside of the covers. These are the covers that go around a 12v and 110v light. Anybody have any ideas? I checked with Vintage and they were unable to help.

Thanks
Tom

Yes, I have one fixture with this same material and it is shot. It is some sort of textured, fibrous material. Been thinking of an alternativel that could withstand the heat of the bulbs but look original. Any ideas?

I believe they were fiberglass shades. See Mid-Century Modern Pendant Lamps & Retro Drum Lampshades for examples....

This place sells the fabric. http://www.moonshineshades.com/

We ordered ours from Moon Shine Lamp and Shade (reinergirl's link, above.) We really like ours. Their prices were reasonable too. We just called them and told them the size we needed.

You can see a picture of our interior light covers here:

I have the same issue. I posted some time ago and got the same address from a member: moonshineshade.com. However I called them/emailed them half a dozen times and they never replied. I then found and contacted a mid-century lamp manufacturer in San Frrancisco (meteorlights.com) and "begged" him to send me three sections, he agreed but haven't received them yet. I will call and ask him if he can help a fellow Airstreamer....
Wish us luck!
Laurent

I just talked to Robert @ meteorlights.com and he will be sending me three 15 X 7 pieces of sand color parchment fiberglass paper, very close if not identical to the originals! Cost is $50 and Robert agreed to help other Airforums members. This is great news! you can email him @ store@meteorlights.com (check your trash folder for the reply as his reply landed in mine which explains the delay)... Good luck
Laurent
