bambi beds

I NEED a dinette setup in my Bambi. (A dinette that converts to
sleeping bed.) Anyone converted the L shaped sleeping configuration to a
dinette and single bed configuration? Also, has anyone any ideas/experience
on putting in an extra (Hanging) bed with eyebolts/chains? Ideas?

First, welcome to these wonderful and helpful forums. My original post was "where were you six years ago". I lament the non existence of the forums at that time.

Second, I promise to post some photos of my conversion tonight.

Third, I took out the "goucho" I think it is called, along the street side. Replaced it with a single 24" wide (or deep) seat facing the front of trailer, with hinged back in which to store my laptop. Added a table attached to the wall with the standard slider attachment, (see any rv store). Used Sliding arms from the old bed and built an entire slide out bed/couch on the front of the trailer. Just lift slightly and pull out. It is a full 48" and two can sleep there comfortably if you are not 7' tall.

The bedclothes I have are from Camping World and has the top sheet sewn to the fitted bottom. All I have to do is pull the top and bottom corners on the outside of the bed off and roll, yes roll them right up under the shelf (which i replaced and added an inch or so and put a nice edge on). Lift the seat back up, which is attached to the bottom by the upholstery, and slide the bed back into place. Voila! Couch.

A bit wordy, but hope it helps a little. If I didn't loose my drawing in my computer crash I will post those as well around 4 p.m. MST

1961 Bambi with bunk beds hardware. Ours have a bunk hardware over the front couch and one over the bed.
I will take pictrues and mail them to you if interested. First I will have to learn how to forward the pictures.
Everything looks original and the same time period.
