Any recommendation on a new furnance?

My 1963 Bambi came to Alaska from Florida, and had the furnance removed while in Florida. When I bought the Bambi, it was already 90% gutted, so not many clues as to what it may have been originally fitted with as far as a heater.

I am not doing a "restoration" and do not need to get the exact original furnance, but what makes/models of furnances have other people used?

this is small and works well. i use the 8012, hooked it to the original exhaust and hid the front behind the original heater grate.

The original furnace was probably yanked when it failed. The ones in that year came from a company called International Oil Furnace Co.
Now, I'm putting a Suburban NT30SP in a 1966 model today. You may not need 30,000 btu heating in a Bambi, then again, in Alaska maybe you will.

my Bambi has the potty/shower combo located on the Street side. Can you folks tell me approximately where the furnace was origanally located? (my Bambi was gutted except for the potty/shower)

The '63 Bambi I once owned had the same gravity furnace that is shown in the detailed photos of this Bambi listed in the classifieds currently. This is the URL to the photos, and they show many of the details of the interior, as well as the heater. Mine, along with this one, did not have a fan, or even a thermostat. You lit it, and it was on. Period. I sure as heck would never put a NT 35 in a Bambi, way, way too large, heat output and physical size. The Suburban 16,000 Btuh output would be fine, even overkill.
