Unhappy Where is the Speed Sensor? (Allison Tranny Error)

Can anyone help with this question?

I'm getting error code d1 22 14 on my Allison transmision (globe?) on my 95 Diesel Pusher.

I believe that is a Speed Sensor error and that I may have a loose wire or short but I don't know where the speed sensor is.

Thanks!

Which speed sensor is it? There are several, and it would help to know which one.
There are vehicle speed sensors, input shaft (also called turbine speed) speed sensors, output shaft speed sensors, wheel speed sensors, etc.
Also, what engine and transmission combination do you have?

allison Tranny Cummins 6 on a classic 95 Diesel Pusher

Hey there Terry...

I'm in Tranny error code hell... I'm getting an error which reads d1 22 14 which indicated the speed sensor (in the tranny not the output (I'm not a mechanic but my friend is pretty comfortable with this engine.) Anyway... we're tracing wiring looking for a short or a break... We swapped out that speed sensor with a new one from Allison and we're still getting the problem. (sigh.)

Anwyay, thanks for your reply...

Check the plug the sensor plugs into. They get a little moisture in them, and /or a little slop in the connector itself, and it won't read right.
Do you have the Cummins engine with your unit? I have a troubleshooting program for truck engines/transmissions, and it may have a TSB listed with a fix for your problem.

You may want to check and clean the ground wire connections before replaceing any other parts.
