Rich,

I'm dually impressed! I wish my 4L80E conversion was something I could work on now but it's one of those projects that won't happen for quite some time.

Looking forward to hearing how yours performs and what if any mpg improvements you see.

Brad

More parts in.

Hi guys. Thanks Brad! Better save the accolades until I actually have everything working. (Fingers crossed)
Got replacements in Friday P.M. for the dodgy parts in the final drive of the 4L80e. Will not get much done this week as I have other things on the burner.
Did check fit on the new slip yoke. OK!. And, no rust in it, new planetarys look and rotate like they should and the new sungear, is new.lol. Look for a more substantial post coming next weekend.
All the best. Cheers. Rich.

Life is interfering with me!

No recent 4L80e progress, decided to order new shim set and bearing set, they are on the way. Noticing that prices are definitely coming down on used 4L80e's
In the meantime we had to buy another car, Hendrick Toyota had the price right on the 2013 Prius, so we treated ourselves to some gas mileage.
Had a dogshow in Raleigh that I was obligated to enter. came away with two wins and three second places for my trio of pups though (see my avatar). Heres an instance where an Airstream saves money. Dogshow are actually much easier to deal with from a motorhome, and moreover the Airstream is economical for going to dogshows with three large dogs. I would have saved about $200.00+, if my 345 was finished.
Unfortunately I also came home with a stinky cold that has kept me out of circulation for a week.
The icing on the cake has been the subsequent complete failure of our house HVAC system!
Oh well, onward through the fog!

Rear Bushing

Sorry to have not been in touch for a while. Been a strange year for me health wise again, glad to say nothing serious though, just inconvenient.
Everything A-OK now.
Just wish wife wouldn't keep coming up with new projects.

Non-GM spec bushing removal tool, gently does it.

Been trying to get these pics loaded for last 6 weeks!
Bushing supplied was wrong one, ordered new complete set.
Stuck re-doing living room for now. Got the room down to the subfloor, can only go up from here!
All the best. Rich.
