pics to come

Absolutely. When I'm not under the gun as I am now, I will take pics and post them. It's not that we didn't want to replace the original suspension, it's the time, money, and immediate hazard that led us to do what we did. Next time I would take it to American Carrier, if possible.

Right now I just need to get it into storage and get home so I can go back to work. The next chance I get, I will explore this more thoroughly. And I'll certainly post a lot more about it.

I've been away from my work for almost 3 weeks now and I'm getting quite nervous about it. I'm self-employed, but that doesn't make it any less urgent. Fortunately, this period coincided with my getting really sick and having to collect records to do our taxes which happen to be here.

Thanks for your continued vigilance!

Jenny, I know what being under the gun is like and you have my sympathies!

It's a real bummer that you have to get sick to spend time with your 345

Take care,

Brad

Boy, that was a close one, I just managed to ransom the coach back from the mechanics at the strike of closing time the night before my flight. Whew!

Drove the Ole Gal up to the storage place and she rode much much better, despite lacking a bag in the front. They replaced the leaf suspension with a full leaf in the back and a bag with manual feed. There is no bag in the front so it's still a little bouncy in the front but it's minor compared to the problems before. When I come back we'll revisit the question of a bag in front but the main thing is that I can now drive her comfortably and safely to Baja next winter and when I get back I can start tinkering myself.

What a relief! I thought I was going to be here another week!

Actually, the best thing would be to get her to Mexico for some of the remaining work. The guy who did most of the work was Mexican!

Pics will follow but it will be months. And yes, it was $3400. OUCH! But still. I'm not sorry.

Jet Air Ride Park and Level

For what it's worth, the air suspension on my '83 310 was installed in '91 by the Jet Company in Humboldt, IA. Don't know what it had before that, but here's the info I have from the previous owner(s).
