Stock Market is up, So is my MPG

So I have been use to between 7 and 8 MPG for most of my trips.
I admit, I dont travel far or often, but I try to log the results.

Like the stock market, the MPG never seems to make sense on these old beasts but I think I may have a upward trend.

My last 2 trips are 8.8 MPG and 9.2MPG on the 454 with TBI system.

My calculation method is not by filling the tank to the top after each trip or guessing from the fuel gauge. I have a dipstick in the tank that I check before and after and use a trip odometer to avoid extra math.

Both trips involved significant hills and highway driving at 60MPH or less. My load was light to medium, and not towing a trailer.

I have only two changes that I have made since the improved MPG started.
First is the aluminum radiator and extra transmission cooler that does seem to keep everything cooler, but I doubt it has much effect on mileage.
Second is I went from regular 10W30 oil to Rotella T6 synthetic 5W40, and I am guessing this has had the biggest effect on MPG.
I will take the gains anyway I can get them!
