So GUY;
Are you a KVMR listner??
Bluegrass for fathers day and now the Celtic thing! Did you stay at the fairgrounds?
I've also got a ton of info from your posts and really hope to see you again at Casini maybe this upcoming spring?
I've got a bunch of saved threads on moho stuff, Maybe I'll have my little moho dependable enough to drive to Casini!
If you can't find the stuff you need you could "borrow" mine to get you home. yup you could!
Yes, I am a KVMR listener whenever possible. Unfortunately I can't get it here, except online.
We stayed at the fairgrounds for the Bluegrass.
Yeah, I sorry we haven't been able to make any rallies recently, my knee problem kept us away from Casini this spring and now we have a lot to do to get ready for our Mexico trip in November. (If I ever get the beast home).
I really need to get this fixed and my knee would make it difficult to do the repair myself, so I'm going to leave the MH at the truck shop until I find the parts. But thanks for the very generous offer of the the loan

Hopefully you won't throw the old a/c bracket away. From what people tell me they are rather scarce so possibly it could be repaired or copied someday.
Brad
No, I won't throw it away. It seems to be cast aluminum and I have been told that it can't be welded so I'm not sure what kind of repair would work (JB Weld ?)
Here's a picture:

As to the PS bracket. Seems like it should be easy to find, right, well maybe not.
I took the bracket to the only junk yard in Chico (Pick and Pull). No luck. There sure are a lot of different PS mounting brackets on Chevy V-8's but I couldn't find the one I need. So, I'm back to square one on that. Here are some (poor quality, but what do you expect from a phone) pictures of the bracket.
I stopped by my favorite Pick-A-Part place this morning and managed to snag two sets of power steering brackets that match the ones in your picture. They came off of early 80s Chevy 1-ton dually trucks with the 454 engine.

Thanks. I'll look for a yard that has that sort of vehicle. I'd be curious to know what you paid for them?
I'd be interested in your opinion of why they would or would not work on a MH. I imagine it would be difficult to tell without seeing them installed.
The ones you are watching on eBay won't work. Those particular brackets place the compressor somewhat off to the side of the valve cover right where the tunnel enclosure is. I have a set of those laying on a shelf in my shop.
I'm pretty sure the ones needed for the Motorhomes are unique to the Motorhomes and probably to the P30 chassis line of trucks.
Terry told me about a truck salvage yard near where he works. Sometime in early December I hope to drive down there and check the place out.
I still hope to take a bunch of measurements off of the one I have and see what it would take to fabricate one. Heck, all it takes is time and money, right . Neither of which I have .

Well, the power steering bracket I ordered arrived today and is the correct part, so I now have a spare. The site I mentioned above seems to have quite a selection of classic Chevy truck parts. Seems like a good source to check for future needs.
The issue with the AC bracket is that it is for an ARA compressor, not a GM style. So, I hope my repaired part lasts.

While poking around looking for Big Block parts I ran across this site. Big block Chevy serpentine conversion kit They make a conversion kit that uses 1994 Chevy small block serpentine mounting components to provide you with a serpentine arrangement for your big block. The kit listed fits the standard deck 454 block. They also make a kit for the tall deck as used in most trucks for $10 more. Big block Chevy serpentine conversion kit
The main thing I found interesting about it was it mounted both the alternator and the a/c compressor above the valve covers. Not sure if it will fit inside the doghouse of a Classic Motorhome but it might be worth checking out.
Friday when I was out shopping at the local Pick-A-Part place I ran across a mid 70s Revcon Motorhome. Looking closer I found that it had a 454 engine with the early style of A/C mounting hardware still in place. I couldn't let those parts get away so I unbolted all the brackets and ended up paying $35.94 for everything. This particular set uses the GM A6 type compressor. I may end up using that compressor on the 20' Argosy and save the other bracket setup I bought as a spare for the 310. We'll see.
