PVC Valves

On the late model 5.3 GM engines they may develope an idle problem which GM fixes by changing the PVC valve to one with a smaller orifice. I had a friend that has a 5.3 "01 Yukon that wouldn't idle. He went to the internet and found GM cure so it must be something that happens regularly. The smaller orifice could mean cleaning or replacing more often.
