Oil and Filter Change

Hi all, after having had (and heard) of so many bad experiences when it comes to changing Oil and Filter...I WANT TO DO IT MYSELF.

I don't know where to start!! I've looked and looked, and NO posts seem to answer the basic question:
How to change your oil and filter on your 454 Engine, on a 1989 Airstream 345 LE.

We're at a Walmart Super center, and they said they could do it...but am not sure that I want hem to touch my baby...

Does any one here have the steps etc... (pictures would be nice) as well as Oil filter part number and so on....I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks.

They probably could, though I don't care for the brand of oil they use. I would specify a Delco oil filter, and make sure they grease ALL the grease fittings, pitman arm, idler arms, tie rods, ball joints, control arms, universal joints, driveshaft. Delco part number is shown as a PF 1218.

If you want to do your own serviciing, but have never done this on any vehicle, here's two ways to get started. Watch/assist someone who is changing the oil on their GM engined moho. Sign up for adult ed class on automotive maintenance.

Another source of info is the shop manual for this GM chassis. Start with Helm's publications who prints all the manuals for GM.

If you decide to pass through the Los Angeles/Pasadena area let me know. It would be great to meet the two of you.

For the most part I'll be in Pasadena through October before we head to Kentucky.
