OEM Airfilter help needed, need to smog!

Sorry if this looks like a repost...
I am getting desperate...
Does someone have a '84ish OEM airfilter to hand...
I just bought my 345 into California and need to get it smogged.
It is a 49 state, not california smog as I think it was originally in Florida, and has a Banks Power kit, but somewhere someone replaced the Banks/Oem combo filter housing with a pancake style which I know will not pass the visual inspection.
Like this...

The carb has been replaced with a Edelbrock, which is smog ok, I think...

In one of the lockers, i found the Banks Airfilter top and K&N, and a OEM style lower filter. There is no intake trunking tho.

I tried to mount it, but found that the throttle linkage fouls the Oem filter, which I think I can resolve with a carb spacer.
My mail concern is the Emissions pipework..
I have been unable to find a diagram that looks like it matches what I have...

So can someone please take a look at what they have on their motorhome, or tell me what the one they took off is like?

The underside of the Oem filter housing looks like this, pictured below.
The "brown widget"on the left is missing 2(or is it 3 with that square thing on the end?) pipes. You can see the housing has a retainer tab for 2 pipes...
Closer to the center of the unit is a small unit which I believe is called the "Air sensor", and you can see in my picture, it has one pipe attached, and one nipple empty.
All the Diagrams I have found show this unit has pipes or a pipe running to a unit called the "Vacuum Diapham Motor" which is mounted on the lower filter intake snorkel... but my lower housing is bare... maybe it is on the trucking, that I dont have!

Can someone please tell me how their stock filter looks and is plumbed or post a pic?

Keyair,

I'll see what I can find in the Chevy P30 chassis service manual that I have. Hopefully I can get that done by Saturday evening.

Stay tuned.....

Can't save your bacon just yet. I found the Chevy P30 service manual but couldn't get access to a scanner. I am out of town until about June 5th. I will be happy to scan in any section of the manual you need when I get back.

Sorry I couldn't get to it, we're selling a house and I haven't had time to do anything but try and finish that up.

I can only wish I was at the beach this week. I have to junk 2 cars, do some minor repairs to a house and pack up the rest of our stuff to finish our move from Arkansas to Kentucky.

You'll hear from me after next weekend.

On bottom picture about 12 o'clock see the 3/8 tube on inner ring, well this tube has an 1/2" hose that goes to canister on rear of left valve cover. Other hoses come out of this canister and go all over including the PCV valve.

Also on bottom pic. about 5 o'clock on inner ring item has two 5/16 vacuum hose nipples, the hose that is still on goes to neck of housing and you'll see it at 1 o'clock in top pic. then the hose that goes on other nipple comes off a 'T' that disappears into a bundle of hoses.

The top pic. pretty much shows where the 3/4 hoses all go to. The long 3/4" hose that runs up under the neck of housing ends up on the Lower, belt driven, smog pump. Also the light colored square item at about 10 o'clock has a 3/4" hose that runs to rear of the Top, belt driven, air pump.

I don't have anything here to tell me the actual names of these items so I hope the pictures will explain it for me. Anyway this is how my 89/90 is set up.

Awesome Bill....
Now, my canister does not have the vac motor valve thingy on the snorkel...
I cant see from the pics you posted, but is it on the metal snorkel bit or on the intake?
I am at the Beach, so I cant look at mine, so its tough to remember...
I used to have a Photographic memory.... but the stopped making the film!

Kmpro,

Thanks,
Well I spent a few hours on it today...
I have pics, but forgot my cable to upload them to my laptop, so later...
Here is what I found...
No Airpump is fitted to my rig... I am hoping its different to Kmpro's because of the weight of the 345... if not that will be frustrating!
I found what I assume to be the Charcoal Canister tucked under the floor at the rear of the doghouse opening... two small pipes emerge from the bottom, and are cut off.

Also tried to fit the airfilter... it fouls the throttle linkage big time... I will order a spacer, but I am concerned that lifting it up it will foul the doghouse.
What is the P30 chassis manual I need to get?
Would this work?

Here are some links to the emissions section of the manual.

I left out the diesel section as I figured that didn't apply to you!

Let me know if there is more that you would like copied.

Awesome, will look thru that today, see if what I need is there..

Here are the picture I promised to post.
Here is the airfilter case sitting on the carb... you can see the stub of the snorkel, but no Vac Motor...

Here is the Charcoal canister, with small vac tubes cut off... And yes, now I know why my aux heater was not working too...
