Unhappy I Need a new Motor 4 my 310

I own a 310 and have a blown motor. With all the choices of remanufactured motors, what should I do. What should I look for? What questions should I ask. This will be the second motor I have put in her.... The last one made it 50K before the rod busted.

Any sugestions.

Thanks

James

Talking Diesel

Go with an oil burner and never look back. There are a whole host of Diesels that will link up to a GM Tranny. It'll be a little more noisey, but the fuel savings and increased power will offset that. It's what Airstream should have done to begin with.

cost

It seems most people in your position go on cost and value....unfortunately that is different for alll...read the threads in the engine repair forum threads and you will see this question has been debated pretty thoroughly...lol...jem

GM crate motor. 50K warranty about $2400 plus installation. This is NEW not a rebuild.

Check the forums and look for a post that I think is tittled Brett And Eddies adventure I, II, III. It's a three part saga about a Argosy, traveling from WA to FL, transmission woes and blowing a motor. Some good information on where the engine came from for that price.
