HT 502 replacement for 454

I have decided to replace my 454 with a new crate 502. There are two HT 502 engines #88890534 which is carberated and #88890533 which can be injected and is 50 state compliant. The later would require a transmission swap 480LE from my th475 but I would have to rebuild at this point anyway. It's a 1987 325. Has anyone done either swap or has someone done the injected route with the Edlebrock ED3564 or 3565 Injection and the new transmission? I hate to break new ground here - so, going to school on you guys first may save some stress. Thanks

Just curious, why do you need a trans swap with the 88890533?

Why not get the 502 RamJet. It should work with what you have very simple swap

Maybe he wants a good towing motor that runs on regular and costs half as much as a race motor?

The indication I got was that the ...533 engine with injection would need some kind of computer interface with the transmission. This engine is for a 1990's vehicle and the the ...534 is for a 1970's.

512 ft.lbs. of torque at an incredibly low 2800 RPM and 338 horse power at 4500 RPM

Sounds -- literally -- like the perfect cam profile. How does that work with rear gears and tire height for 60-mph cruise speed? I know we used to like to cruise -- while towing -- just below peak torque. Slap the cruise on and it practically drove itself (the CC type from the 60's/70's).

Who has jetting/metering rod info for your changes on the carburetor? Does EDELBROCK still market their QuadraJet replacement series?

.
