My local shop wants $16.44 per air filter and $13.28 per oil filter for my Kohler generator. Is that high or par for the course?

Is there a cross reference to a national brand that I can get for less?

Oil - Kohler 277233 to Fram PH3600
Air - Kohler 47-083-04 ($16.44) to Purolator A23340 ($6.29)

I have a single cylinder Kohler engine that sees a lot of dusty use. It uses the same air filter as my 7000w Kohler generator, round about 8" diameter. I got foam sleeves from the Kohler dealer that can be oiled, washed and reused. I haven't had to replace the paper filters in 3 years, was changing the one every other month.

Where can i buy these? The one in there now looks like it's the original...brown paper! Rusted metal. Not too good maintenance by the PO!

Best bet is gonna be CW on bot the Air and Oil Filter unless you have a Cummins dealer close by. The Oil Filters can be cross referenced, but the Air filters are a unique part.

try NAPA just replaced my filters and they had the correct parts. no sponge outer cover just a paper filter. oil was 8 and air was 6 . need to know the model for the set . my gen set is a nhe or nhel for parts. don't know what a Kohler would be, look on the tag. that is how he looked the parts up.
