Do any of you Isuzu diesel owners know the part number or direct replacement for the voltage regulator? I cant find a number on mine. I am slowly putting together a supply of on board parts. Just found a direct replacement alternator, it is a new take off from a bus fleet that years ago upgraded their alternators from 80amp to 130 during a 6bd1 diesel conversion. This business in Mich had a couple pallets full of our alternators including the vacuum pump. Exact Isuzu numbers match, $155 shipped to my door. Couldnt belive it. Theyve been collecting dust in their warehouse. Bench tested and basically 0 hours on the units.

Id like to have the regulator on board also, so if any of you diesel owners have that info Id would sure appreciate it.

Thanks as always
Mike

I tried to find a reg for mine the only 1 I found was a solid state. It worked but I couldn't get the tack to work so I sent it back. That is a good deal on the Alt I think the Alt on mine is only 35 amp.It dose the job but no extra

He said it was the last one he could find in his warehouse, of the many he had bought. I told him our situation here and there might be more folks interested. He said that he would look for more in his warehouse and call me if he finds any. If he does, Ill let you know if he does. He also said he could supply the regulator but needs to look at what we are using. If nobody comes up with a replacement here Ill investigate it more. I would imagine its a Denso reg..

That would be great , When I had the reg off I couldn't find a number on it. When the weather warms up I could take mine off and take a pic if that would help.

I had to put the old one back on because the tach wouldn't work with the new one.

I could take it off and take a pic of it

The numbers for the regulator are on the front of the cap facing the motor. Its a denso but mine is rusted and I just cant make out the numbers. If you could see if you can still read the numbers, Ill send them off to him and bet he will be able to come up with a replacement. His words "a regulator is a regulator is a regulator" but Im not savvy enough to understand how these things work and what we need. Hes been in biz since mid seveties and sounds like his customer base is industrial, custom, hard to find type applications. Mine is working fine now but would like to have a spare on the road for sure.

hopefully we will have several turbo diesels at the rally too, surely we can raid them all with a flash light and paper/pen and piece together the numbers

I found reference to this part number in an old thread for the '82 turbo diesel, does this mean anything to any of you auto electric experts?

#ECHVR55O

I tried googling it every which way and come up with nothing.

To bad it shows "out of stock". Hopefully there is some sort of cross reference available for that number from NAPA.
