Diesel Engine Serial Number???

Help, PLEASE! I have a 1981 28' motorhome with the 6 cylinder Isuzu diesel engine. I need to order engine parts to get it repaired but I was told they can only be ordered by the ENGINE serial number. I was told it is a 5 or 6 digit number on the lower outside of the engine but we can't find it. From the info on the VIN sticker, this engine and frame were purchased by Airstream in 1979 but it was made into a 1981 coach. I'd be grateful for any help you can give me. Thank you.

Check here to find your serial number location:

Your engine is a 6DB1 5.7 liter inline 6

Talk to this outfit.

Craig knows these engines and has been able to supply whatever I needed without a serial No.

You will find that when airstream put them in the coach they neve thought about writing the number down or how anybody would ever be able to see it. I am going through the same on mine a 91 cummins. I figure I will have to take the front wheel off and use a series of mirrors or bore camera to get it
