Carb cleaner

Thanks folks for the advice, saved me a bunch of money. First 100 miles on new '83 310, 4.5 mpg. Grabbed can of cleaner and went to cleaning. 2 nd. 100 miles 4.8 mpg, looking for parking place now. PO had choke work done, sprayed some more, now getting 9 to 9.5 mpg at 55mph. I can live with that. Thanks again....Bill

now you're talkin'......keep it clean it will continue to work well.
Also you might consider putting in Tornado Air manager, it added some power and mileage to my 454 for 60 bucks. Yes I too was sceptical, but it does work.

Here is a link:

I am also considering this mod to my car based on the feedback that the folks here have posted. I am kind of skeptical, but more than a few folks have sworn by them. For $60, I think I may give it a try.

I was very sceptical, I am with most aftermarket items.( Especially additives).
I went ahead and orderd the thing because it had a money back guarantee. Popped it in there, and immediately felt a difference in uphill power. Mileage on my trip last summer was between 8-9mpg, and maybe a little better when I wasn't running the a/c and generator.
I think I had 7-8+ before.

A friend put one on his 85 chevy 454 and swears it made a noticeable difference.
