Brake warning light

My brake warning light came on again. The last time this happened, I had to replace a line off the master cylinder. This time I applied the brakes, I found a line of fluid sprayed on the ground and the brake warning light lit up. Also, the power steering was making the loud noise. Are these two systems related. I should add that this is on my 1976 Argosy MH. Any and all responses would be appreciated.

On mu 84 MH and I assume your rig as well (Both P30s) the power unit is the same for the steering and the brakes.

Fish, if you find you need a hydroboost pump check out www.millsupply.com and see if one of the units they have will work for you. Not sure what might work for your vintage but they have a number of options. Their prices are way cheap! Likely a line again if you're lucky, as they have them too.

Fish,
As Glen and Guy have pointed out, the hydroboost pump provides the power for both the steering and the power brakes. Replacements can be had from Mills, RockAuto.com or any aftermarket auto parts supplier. I bought a rebuilt pump with a lifetime warrantee from AutoZone for about $60. New pumps are pretty expensive. Either way it's a special order part and will take the better part of a week to get one.

Replacing the pump is a real PITA. Here is a link to my saga that began with a water pump failure and ended with the replacement of my pump (http://www.airforums.com/forum...ght=hydroboost).

If you plan to do this youself, feel free to PM me as there are some tricks. In all honestly, this is one that I would gladly pay a professional mechanic to do for me in the future.
