Oh, yeah, they can bend...
They really can bend. Even though your wheels are very heavy duty, you also have a very heavy vehicle exerting force on them, when you hit a pothole, you put thousands of pounds of force on the edge of the rim. And if you scuff a curb, you have up to ten thousand pounds of force pushing the wheel sideways. You may be able to get a replacement steel wheel from a medium/heavy duty truck dealer. I located one for another forum member's motorhome at the local International Truck dealer, for around $100 new. They will ask if your wheels are hub centered, or lug centered, and how much offset you have. Hub centered is when the hub has a ridge on it to hold the wheel in place, lug centered is where the holse for the lug nuts have a bevel so the beveled lug nuts will hold the wheel centered.
