Back to the inverter questions

Got the inverter installed with a Dpdt switch between the TV's and its power. My question is? When i'm hooked up to shore power and the battery charger is active, and I mistakenly leave the inverter on. Does it causes a charger or battery problem?

With the smaller inverter you should be ok. The issue I would worry about is the long term effect on the battey charger in the MH. When running the inverter you will be drawing a much higher current than the normal charge would require. As along as the max draw from the inverter is less than or equal to the max output of the charger you should be ok.

inverter

It'ds a 800 watt/7amp Coleman inverter. The 19" draws 175watt the 13" draws 75 watt and the Sat reciever draws 75 watt.?

That's about 25 amps, for those three units. I think my converter is 40 amps, don't know what yours is. Take total wattage and divide by voltage to get amps. I used 13.2 in this case.

Question Ref figuring amps

I could be wrong, but oms law say's, watts devided by volts= Amps. So should'nt it be a 175 watt tv(that's what it says on the back) draws 1.59amps. At your house, most circuit brakers are 25 amps for a whole bunch of outlets.

Krazykraut-

You are figuring it at 120v (out of the inverter), Pick was figuring what was fed into the inverter.

An inverter isn't 100% efficient. If we say it's 85% efficient, it needs 175+75/.85=294 watts input. 294 watts/12 volts from the batteries = 24.5 amps coming out of the batteries for just the 19" TV and sat receiver... or 294/13.8 volts = 21 amps coming out of the converter that won't be charging the batteries if you forget and leave the TV and sat receiver on the inverter when hooked up to shore power.
