So it sounds like you are mixing terminology, A Carb is strictly a mechanical device for fuel delivery. A TBI uses injectors controlled by electronics to deliver fuel.
If your fuel system was working but just failed you could have pump or filter problems, I have found that my fuel gauge was way off and I was running on a empty tank when the gauge said 1/4
