Ya all that extra oil has to go somewhere. Educations are expensive whether it's Local community college or learning the oil level in your rig. Do you have a shop repair manual? They have all the information you'll need for maintenance. Probably tons of chevy forums as well. John Los Angeles, CA

I think There should be an O ring between the tube and block if memory serves me correct?

Hmm... I guess my diagnosis was a bit off. I thought the dip stick entry location felt OK. Glad you got it fixed without having to remove the transmission and replace the main seal.

I just read the whole thread.
Good story and one to read and remember.
Having rebuilt my suburban 454, and done headers on another, I am familiar with the dipstick tube clamp. On mine, the tube was clamped under a header bolt... and the tube threads thru. This normally leaves a telltale hotspot on the dipstick itself.
Maybe the MH long... long tube different!
