454 Repair Mnaual

Can anyone recommend a repair manual for my 1976 Argosy MH engine(454), best place to get one? I would think this would be handy to have. Thanks, Chris

Thanks Dave....I have looked there. I'd prefer to avaoid the Haynes type and go with an OEM but not sure what to look for.

Within the e-bay motors section there is a section called "Manuals and Literature". You can search this section for all types of original equipment manufacturer manuals. For example there are a couple of sets of the GM P32/42 motor home chassis- not sure if this is the Airstream MoHo platform or not - but it might be close enough to help. I would suggest asking any seller if the 454 engine service/overhaul is contained in the volumes being offered and go from there.

Happy Hunting!

I have found Motor manuals be be superior even though they cover many models instead of one huge poor manual devoted to a single one (Haynes). Admittidly, they don't have wiring diagrams or instructions on how to service the AC vents in the dash, but those would not apply to a motorhome anyway. The engine and running gear sections are what you need, and Motor does a great job.

Check out this one on Amazon from 1982 (Amazon.com: Motor Truck Repair Manual (9780878515509): Motor: Books). It would cover yours. The main thing is to get one that is old enough. Even though they still make 454s, you don't need info on the new fuel injection units and that vintage ignition systems.
