2000 30' LY MH Park Brake Issue

Having purchased this MH last year I noticed that the park brake would not release intermittently. Not realizing the potential problems this would ensue we proceeded on our trip to the Grand Canyon. Everything worked fine until we returned from Death Valley to Pahrump NV when I noticed the auto park red lite was on. So a trip to the GM dealer in Pahrump who replaced the hydraulic switch which was "leaking fluid" and taped up some "cruddy" wires. at considerable expense.

Having read the threads in this forum auto-park-16864.html and 8927.html, my question is : has this problem been fixed by GM on later models of the P30 bus chassis. Mine was built on the 1999 model year.

There weren't many later models. It wasn't long after 2000 when that chassis line was sold to Workhorse. I have no idea if workhorse uses the auto apply brake. You might check with workhorse directly.

Thanks for your help. I am really concerned as the other threads talk of the brake engaging while on the move. Could be a very interesting situation.

I will check w Workhorse to see what they have.
