Reading Light Fixtures 64 Overlander

I am currently trying to replace or restore the reading lights in my 64 Overlander. The ball socket joint seems to be unreliable. Also I don't like the color. Is there any advice on how to restore these? Seems like trying to paint the interior of the cone shaped light would be challenging. Also, are there any other parts that would be worthwhile replacing/fixing?
Thanks.

Parts for those bullet lights have been gone for many years.

New style bullet lights are available, that are 12 volts DC.
