After 3 trips to NAPA, I found out that the left front caliper hose on my 85/86 345 is off of a G30 van not a P30. Sometimes they just used whatever was handy.
The P30 and van were never built in the same plant, and even back then brakes were a real no no to substitute parts. I would put that one on NAPA or their vendor. I can't believe some of the parts I have ordered lately that were no where near the description, returned them and got the same thing again.

MH VIN

Now that my MH is smogged in California, I went to get it finally registered at the DMV. They said I had to physically have the MH there for "verification" of the VIN. So there I am and they could not find it and neither could I, although they have it from the original owner...they couldn't find the VIN plate on the coach. We looked around the windshield, behind the seats, and even limited engine compartment. So now I have to take it to the California Hwy. patrol for them to find it or give me a new one. The appt. isn't til Nov. 6.
Reading here, maybe I can save that trip if indeed the VIN plate is on the curb side of the rediator. I wish I had read this before going to DMV just in case! Maybe I'll bump into Eric Estrada at CHP!

I tried the VIN site mentioned above, and they say my VIN is invalid. It should have 17 characters and mine is only 13. I think they changed it in 1981, which is my coach year, but my chassis is 1979, so I think that's why there's this problem. Will keep all posted.
