The flooring is Armstrong (of course) 12X12 self stick tiles.

I got it at Lowes. It is less than a buck a square foot. They have a few diffrent type, this is supposed to look like stone, but it looks like cork to me.

To prep the floor I first filled the bolt heads from attaching the plywood deck to the frame with bondo. Shaved it close to smooth and then did a quick sanding with the belt sander all over. I worked the seams between sheets to get it as even as possible. Since there was carpet stem to stern the floor was not too even where the sheets butted up to each other. I can see where I was not as able to get the plywood seams as even as I would like most people would not notice. I also statred the floor tiles at an edge of the plywood. This places a asema in the floor covering at a seam in the plywood so when the rig flexes it does not try to pop a tile loose. The plywood sheets are 4 feet wide and run left to right.

Steph,

If you would like to have a sample of all of the soft goods as a tangible reminder, let me know. I have old smelly carpet, rotted drapes and stained upholstery that I may have to give money to the trash guys to get them to haul it off. I would be happy to ship some of it to you for FREE!

Oh, gee, um, let's just let that stuff fade quietly into memory Particularly the funky fabric that looked like a torn-up brown paper bag motif. You've really got to wonder how anyone could have thought that was attractive, even 'back in the day'. What kind of fabric are you replacing that stuff and recovering the chairs with?

The colors will be a medium blue upholstery with a small yellow fleck running thru it. The carpet will be dark blue. The front drapes are an ivory background with leaves in shdes of blue. I have attached a photo of the drapery fabric. The rear drapes will be a dak blue on blue that matches the color of the carpet. We have to have some ivoyr and yellow to help the fabrics blend with the aged ABS as it has all turned slightly diffrent shades of yellow and ivory.

Very nice. I can't wait for the next update. You two are coming up with a very tasteful scheme. I like the round sink in the kitchen too. When people walk in they're going to think that's a brand new motorhome (and with the new interior and drivetrain, I guess it is)!

Are you still messing with this? I think I just read soemwhere else that u are putting carpet in that area. If so why remove the pedestal or are you taking it out for good. I just removed the chair and slipped the carpet over the pedestal.

Three words.

Stinky rotten carpet.

I am going to reinstall the same chairs, but I want to do it right. I have the garnishes that go over the baseof the chair, but I want to remove ALL of the carpet.

I give up. I cannot get the chair bases out. I guess I will not worry about them in an accident . I am going to do the lay over thing after I trim as much of the carpet away as I can.

Attached is a picture of the floor in the kitchen, from a better angle. Someone wanted to see more floor. The color of the floor looks fine before I post. If anyone wants high resolution photos PM me.

I am having deja vue looking at your picture.
The fun part to cover with carpet is the dog house. I used an air stapler.

Peter,

Mine right now looks just like your picture. Drivers floor and doghouse covered. I have a 9.6V Mikita stapler that works wonders. I have used it for more projects than I can count. I noticed that your doghouse is shaped different than mine. Mine goes straight on both sides and on you pass side it comes out straight and then angles.

The warnings from experience I have: when you do a recarpet job, be very paitent. The factory went a little nuts using screws to hold the carpet in place and they can be a bear to find. Also make sure you don't get carpet that is too thick, I had to pull the pad from under the hall since the bathroom door would not open due to the depth of the pile on the carpet.

The color on the rear drapes changed. We had a heck of a time cutting the blue fabric we chose. It was defective. So Edie found this for the rear. The fronts are still going to be what I posted earlier. They still need snaps and velcro. That is for this weekend.

This weekend I got a few things done.

Finished the carpet that is posted above. Cut down the table by 1/2 inch so it will clear the new higher pile. Recovered all of the wall pads by the beds. Installed my new to me exaust manifold (thanks Al!). Installed the snaps for the rear curtains, and got one of the two storage tubes mounted.

Edie got all of the side drapes completed and installed. Now all that is left is the windshield set.

Not bad for a weekend

This was a fun project. The cork board was dry and brittle. So I raided my Dad's wine bottle cork collection (we only had fewer than 20 corks in our collection) and redid the cork board.

You can see what the old one looked like in a "Before" photo of the kitchen Brett posted earlier in this thread.

We bought "stained glass" plastic cling at Home Depot and put it in the bathroom window. Now we get light in during the day, but always have privacy.

Cool - neat job on the corkboard! I hope I run into you guys again someday so we can admire the MH in person. It's great to see all the changes you're doing to it!
