Question Subaru Toad

I have a 98 subaru stationwagon AWD I'd love to tow behind the A/S MH. I have checked the manual and been to the dealer. They say "no way", not even with a dingy. Yet, I have seen a couple on the road 4 wheel towing and RV magazine says its ok. Does any one have any experience with towing them or another
awd car? Modification required? Thanks

When I owned my older model Subaru, it was clearly stated to me and in the owners manual that the engine must be running in order to lubricate the transaxle. The car was not to be towed more than a few miles unless the wheels were off the ground.

Dealers were required to have either a fronted end sling type lift or a platform tow truck.
