I don't know about "ugly" - that's probably in the eye of the beholder, but it's certain that no one could dispute that "unusual" is a useful description. At any rate, it's clearly not my style.

For once! Not a vintage unit!! Use a late model Airstream if you're going to chop it up. Doesn't bother me so much that way.

But, arrive at the campground, you're stuck on the idea of running into town for orange juice and bitter lemon...

We should go easy on this guy...

It could have been conceived and fabricated during the recovery of a serious head injury.

It's a possibly that it's well constructed. Wouldn't be hard to exceed Airstream quality.

If you move the decimal point two places to the left, I'd buy it.... for parts.

With all the money and time that was spent on it you'd think the interior would be a little more attractive.

Wow. For that money, I could buy a new Bambi and a new Sprinter for me, one for my wife, one for my brother, and have serious change left over.

"Head injury" sums that price up.
Even on craigslist people seem to think that just because something says airstream they can ask an absurd amount for it.

Kidding??

1. Well, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
2. Just because you put all your blood, sweat, and tears into it, doesn't mean someone is willing to pay for your blood, sweat, and tears.

Yikes - yes, he is crazy and has a head injury.

I think it is pretty cool, and no, I would never buy it at any price. He'll never get what he put into it, but still has to learn that.

Ugly? I've seen a lot of uglier things such as 5th wheels, many travel trailers and MH's the size of a county.

If I had a serious financial interest in Airstream Inc, I believe I'd take him to court to try to get the Airstream logo removed.

Other than that: to each his own.

Funny, when this abomination was pointed out in the ebay scams thread, I said a similar thing... I'd just buy an Interstate and a Bambi and have more beds, an extra bathroom and kitchen, and something to drive to the grocery store or other local attractions after I got the Bambi level, stable and hooked up. Never mind the $400k I'd have left over for diesel, groceries and camping fees!

My thoughts exactly.

I actually SAW this thing AT Jackson Center. The cabinetry work wasn't half bad, but the offering price? The problem with a one of a kind unit is that only one person on earth may ever want it.

He's going to need a lot of luck to sell it at all, even if he moves the decimal point two places to the left.

The craftsmanship may be OK, but the interior is seriously ordinary, and the exterior is, well, lets say, different. DKB_SATX has it nailed right and Foiled Again is sure right about the price he might get, with luck.

Is it Halloween already? It's FrankenSprinter!

Just looking at it makes me so very glad that Airstream makes the Interstate!

Not for me. I have made a toy hauler trailer from scratch out of a 24' car hauler. No question, lots of work even with a full function trailer to start with.
If you took 150k to purchase the trailer and truck, he wants $70 an hour for his work!
Kudos for a vision and the follow through, but when my friend just purchased a 2001 40' Monaco Density with 2 slides and looks like new for 55k, although not a AS, he can buy a lot of fuel for that price and have some room when gets there!

All the old maxims - "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", "Beauty is only skin deep"

OK Mom, I heard you . . . I really did. But stilll - that thing is just plain ole hard to look at and the guy must have been going thru a tequila withdrawal when he was dreaming it up.
