The collision I'm worried about is me/us hitting the front of the MH.

Wink Alas, I did check, the left side doesn't extend.

Any ideas for online sources of longer belts? I live in the sticks.

Good point re the mounting of a seat with integral belts

Shoulder harness on the seat- check you seat mount very carefully. My pedastal was mounted to 1x2" 1/8" wall tube with 3/8" bolts, sitting on 1/2" plywood. The plywood was falling apart and the seat rocked. If you put new seats in they need to have a very substantial mount, remove the plywood and weld steel plate down. The pedestal needs to be larger, especially front to rear, to resist forward motion under hard stops. If not you have a fairly long lever with the weight of the seat and your body pulling on the mount bolts whenever you stop. The harder the stop, the more stress.

John, the pictures in your album are amazing. Thanks for making them available.
