well I will say cutting the aluminum panels for access was a whole lot harder than I expected. Why the don't make these things with press board i will never know
Not having the "Frank like" workshop I used my drill with a saw/drill bit and tried a jig saw, and a rotary cutter also. I guess I needed a reciprocating saw. The drill did it after a bit of sweat.
The pipe is cleanly broken at the joint where it goes into the brass fitting.
I bought some replacement parts at HD and will try them tommorow, hope compression fitting will hold up- any ideas on that before I do it?
also the brass 90 degree bend I bought won't turn to screw in, for lack of space. I got two screw in brass fittings, the 90, and a compression adaptor for the broken pipe. Might have to bring the pipe out of the shower control somehow and extend before I attach the old pipe. Yikes. check my next post...
