That is a good tip on the awning. Mine is torn right where the pull is. In the pet that hangs for decoration. One thing I plan to do shortly is treat them all with 303 protectant. It has been done religiously in the past and it shows. Today I ordered pets for my step. The previous owner installed a nice automatic step but it failed recently. With luck it will be back in service this weekend.

Try cleaning the grounds for the step. That's frequently the issue if it quits working.

It’s been a long while since I updated this thread. The repairs and upgrades haven’t stopped though! We still haven’t decided on countertops! We did however install new captains seats and barrel chair from Ship For Seats.com. I was reluctant to spend so much money for something I couldn’t touch. They had great reviews though and the customer service was awesome. Long lead times though, everything is custom built. I apologize for the picture orientation, once again! I’ll get proper pictures when I return home.

Those look great. It’s shop4seats.com, right? Considering what we paid to have our cockpit seats reupholstered, the prices don’t look bad to me.

That is correct. Ours cost over 2000 total for all three but we upgraded the foam and springs and added seat heat.

Does anyone know where I can get parts for my generator? Fuel pump has quit and I’m struggling finding replacement parts. I can add a different pump but would prefer to stay original if possible. It’s a Koehler 7000kw

This is a backup camera that I ordered from Amazon. Relatively cheap compared to something like a Voyager brand and had great reviews. It’s worked fine since install about six months ago. Wireless connectivity was nice as well. Just had to use the original wiring for my 12v. LeeKuLoo was the brand.

Hallo airstream friend, Love what you did to your airstream. I also have a 345 and was hoping I could ask some questions on the cabins? The color you set on them - espresso - did you first sand paper the wood down before setting on new color? Our one cabin got wet and has now waves in the floor of the cabin. We will see what we do about that. Most of our windows open very hard and will need to replace all the rubber where its in and also the two front windows with the white strap going down - you have a pic on your page on that - do you know what this is called and where I can buy all the different rubbers for the windows? We live in Germany so such material is not to be found here. I will be very glad if you could find the time to help us on some of the questions. i thank you in advance and hope you have a great smiley day. George

We used a one step stain and urethane for the cabinets. I sanded all of them down with 220 grit sand paper. If they are really smooth 400 may work better. The single step takes some getting used to. Stroke the brush in one direction and don’t don’t over brush. I did a spit that was hidden to learn the technique. I’ll try to get you a pic of what I used. As far as parts go Vintage Trailer Supply and Airstream Supply is where I got mine. Where are you located in Germany? We just had an exchange student that lived near Munich. The beer she brought me is great by the way!

Fuel pump for the gen set arrived. It pumps good but I’m still having trouble getting fuel from the tank? I replaced all my rubber lines last winter. Im hoping I just got something kinked or swapped. I didn’t have time to finish diagnosing the problem before our Independence Day vacation. Anyway if someone is looking for a replacement fuel pump for their Koehler generator I found this one on eBay. Just search Faucet fuel pumps.

I’m kind of bummed about it but the original microwave died on our last outing. I tried replacing the fuse but it will only work on convection. Since we were needing one for the remainder of our trip I picked up a Dometic brand at Camping World. The reviews were mixed but it seems to work great. Time will tell if it’s dependable. The trim kit wouldn’t fit so I just added a board that will prevent it falling out while driving. It’s screwed in so if replacement is needed while on the road it’s quick and easy. We did bake a cake on the convection setting. It turned out great!

While I wasn’t updating this thread I did spend considerable time updating some mechanical systems. I mentioned earlier that I replaced all the rubber fuel lines. They were original going to the tank and my generator feed line was inside the belly of a rat. I decided to make an access hole under the bed to perform this work. Honestly I think it would have been just as easy to drop the tank! I replaced all fuel lines to the engine including the metal hard lines and upgraded to a Carter electric fuel pump. While I had the bedroom gutted I installed sound deadener and insulation under the bed.

On our trip last fall I experienced near brake failure when my hydra boost started to fail. That is an experience that I’m glad happened near home! I decided to pull the radiator for access and upgrade the cooling system. One thing led to another and we now have a rebuilt brake system, new power steering pump and re cored radiator. I replaced all the ac components with the exception of the evaporator and installed dual electric fans and 180 degree thermostat. I left the clutch fan for backup just in case. On our last trip the temp never moved from 180. The dash AC still only blows cool, not cold. Just like it did prior to replacing these components. We upgraded the charging system as well with 160 amp alternator and new isolator. I will try to get some pictures over the weekend.

I’m using r134a. I updated the condenser and expansion valve to a 134a design. Put on a new Sanden compressor as well. Dryer and hoses were replaced to. I did all the work last winter. When I charged the system I had it overcharged. I bought a good set of gauges and realized what I had done. Weird thing is my low side pressure seems lower than I would expect. At 1500 RPM I’m at about 35 PSI low side and 225 PSI high side. It was about 90 outside. That is how I got it overcharged initially. I only had a good reading on the low side and it was cold out. I pulled vacuum on the system for a half hour or so. It held vacuum so I assume I got all the air out? I may discharge the system and pull it down again and recharge?

Another question about the dash AC and heat. Do any of you notice that less air comes out of the center vents? My passenger vents and vent left of the steering wheel blow lots of air but the center vents blow very little.
