New and need a how-to

We just came home with our 2014 Interstate on Saturday. I've been doing lots of reading but sure do have a lot of questions.

I've read that the privacy shade leaves a lot to be desired and plan to order a closer fitting sun shade. Until then, however, how in the world are you supposed to put up the one they provide? I'll be darned if I can figure it out!

Stretch out the curtain. You will see two horizontal pockets on the top edge, and two loops on the top corners.

In the Interstate, turn both visors until they're angled straight down. Unclip the inner end so they're just hanging by the outer end.

Slip one curtain pocket over the driver's side visor, with the pocket facing the inside. It should slip on far enough to clip the inner end of the visor back in place. Leave the visor hanging down.

Now slip the other pocket over the other visor, same way. Again leave the visor hanging straight down.

Then take the upper corners with the loops, and attach them to the clothes hooks located just behind the driver's and passenger's doors, above and behind the seats.

Forget about the little Velcro pads that are supposed to hold the bottom corners. The glue that's supposed to hold the Velcro to the interior molding is weak, and doesn't stick as well as the Velcro sticks to itself. Instead, just make sure the lower ends hang straight between the door and the seat.

The privacy curtain works best if you push the steering wheel as low and in as it will go using the adjustment lever on the underside of the steering column. You can still swivel the front seats with the privacy curtain in place, if you're careful.

Once the curtain is in place, it's best to go in and out by the side door only.

Thank you so much for your quick reply! I only have a single pocket in the center. No wonder I couldn't figure it out!! Maybe they included the wrong type?

Or maybe a manufacturing defect? Is the pocket dead center, or offset to one side? If it's offset, you might still be able to use it, by putting one visor in the pocket, and just wrapping it between the other visor and the windshield, otherwise as described in post #2.

It's not a defective privacy curtain – it’s just a newer design. My 2013 Interstate came with the same curtain with a single pocket in the center. That pocket is to go over the center rear view mirror/camera monitor. The curtain merely goes in front of the lowered visors.

How is that done? I have plastic clips over the 'removable' end. They won't come free. I have to admit tho, that it always puzzles me when I try to figure it out when driving, but I always to forget to investigate later when I'm parked. Am I missing something simple?

The plastic clips will come free. You just need to grab the front edge of the clip and peel it down and back. This does take some force and make sure you're not driving when you do it!

Glad I saw the posts about "one center pocket"....unfortunately, my "Stayput" loops on the corners won't stay put. the cords pop right out of the plastic. Sounds like a defect to me. Both of them fell right out when I tried to hook them.....unless I am doing something wrong there. It wouldn't be the first time in this learning process.
