Several of my interior window latches have been "messed with" over the years, and now do not work properly. Particularly the screws assemblying the window pull to the window frame are Kaput.
Does anyone know a source for these latches? Used are OK of they work.
Time is of the essence as we leave in two weeks for Fairbanks on the AlCan, and I would like to have a modicum of security!

If they are the same ones that were used in that year of Airstream, they are still being used in the Classics and any Airstream Dealer can get them for you, expect to pay somewhere in the range of $30 each.

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going
Interior window latches for the classic Airstream as well as they Argosy motorhomes are still available. They are in two styles. One is a two screw and the other is a three screw mounting.
However, the price of $30.00 each was good probably in 1978.
Airstreams current price for those latches (locks) is about $125.00 each, plus or minus, depending on which one you need.

Ah, the good old days.

OOPS! I was thinking of the window latches in a Trailer not a Motor Home.

If Security is what you want, I have seen owners cut a piece of wood dowel to the proper length and use it in the bottom track to hold the window secure. It will not allow it to slide open so the would be thief will HAVE TO break something. That is a whole 'nother thread.

How about someone posting a good picture of the two styles of MH window latches. And maybe the part numbers.
Is this NOS or aftermarket copies?
This thread should be read by any and every prospective vintage AS-MH purchaser. Who knows maybe heirloom window latches are just the tip of the iceberg.
Course it sorta makes my day. My being just common Vintage AS Trailer trash and all. I can be "thankful" that my window latches are just 35.00.
Actually with gas prices soaring (never to see 1.49 again I predict), many VintageMHs will just become "parked projects" and join the growing legion of seldom towed "Driveway Dragons" anyway. Ah now with that savings in non bought gas there will be plenty available for Tiffany parts.
If all you need are the screws, I found mine at Ace hardware. They had a great selection of machine screws. I replaced screws on three of the interior latches.
