We have a 1984 motorhome that has been remodeled into an art studio. Have done a lot of mechanical upgrades, but now we need to sell. Is there anyone in Austin that can give us a realistic appraisal so we can sell it? Our pottery nonprofit is going out of business. (512) 589-1498
i spent some time in austin and had some repairs @ camper clinic (they wouldn't touch the engine tho) they only do trailers and SOBs (some other brands).
if you can make it to the DFW area, i would recommend north dallas RV
they are fairly knowledgeable about classic motorhomes & they sometimes consign classics on their lot
check out Freds archive and the classifieds on the Forum here to get an idea.
i think it is free to post a "for sale" here on air forums

Good luck on getting an appraisal. Hope your results were better than our attempts.
When we wrecked our 1981 Classic 3 years ago, I had a devil of a time finding a value because we had also done upgrades. The insurance company said I had to get the appraisals but they were not really fair with their settlement. I had to to the 'leg work' or their work for them. O' well, we not have another insurance company.

I would not recommend N Dallas RV. They had my Airstream for over 6 months and while I was promised every two weeks, "we are starting next week," they never touched it. Poor communication and service.
Best thing to do is find ads on the AIR classifieds, ebay, craigslist, etc and get an idea on the current value based on condition.
Hey this would be a great addendum to TOPs' business. He is a real, in business, storefront, experienced, close to Austin, has references....and a nice Guy at that. Any insurance should recognize his work.

A friend of mine just had a bill of sale when she purchased her 1966 canned ham trailer. She ended up going to some large RV place near Waco for the appraisal.
I would think some of the larger places (N and S of Austin) along I-35 would have someone on hand or could refer you.
