I would like to describe my coach. I bought it 2 years ago in Buffalo, NY. It is a 345, tight 454, rear bedroom, center kitchen, all the options. It is currently undergoing a ongoing restoration.

I am planning on attending the rally in Mystic Springs, FL in April.

Nice rig, Have a 345 also. Went to my 1st WBCCI event several weeks ago on Texas coast and really enjoyed it and the people were great ! What kind of restoring are you planning on doing to your rig and welcome to the forum.

If you are referring to the motorhome rally in Mystic Springs- not sure if there is one on the schedule this year or not. We were considering moving it to get more attendance.
Probably after the first of the year we will start the process of picking a place and seeing how much interest we can generate.

I was hoping that Airstream would have a motohrome get together at the plant when they debut the new Classic motorhome. May still be a possibility...but have not heard yet.

Question --

What is the panel immediately aft of the door, under the kitchen window, and above the furnace vent?

It appears to be some sort of vent from what I can make out in the picture.

thank you for the replies. repairs & updates to coach are as follows. all new brakes,calpiers,heavy duty stabalizer bar fromIPD.bilisten shocks.drive shaft balance, allnew u joints. radiator recore,A/C upgrade to R-134.rear axle gear lube change,trans fulid change all wood sanded & clear with five coats general poly wipe on finnish from woodcrafters. pull rugs installed floting wood floor. repair front side windows no wind noise now. Beleive me I have been hitting it hard sience purchase.side vent under window by entrance door p.o was a instance hot hot waterchange to a battery charger and monitor.still have a ways too go to meet final goal. Have not join in the past ,not computer smart not much time only early monring & rain days. have too wait for assintance from son.for all tenchical promgraming.will try to join in more oftennow that son has me set up. thank you & have a nice day. parting thought. IF IT WAS EASY EVERY ONE WOULD DO IT.

we have the same year and modle,How many miles on the odometer?I had my brakes done including the tag shoes and all of the pads and rotors turned.Also rebuild the radiator I have 65k on it when this work was done.I'm doing the front windows but can't get the outside molding,also install a new sink faucet.I will also install hardwood floors and re-cover the couch with leather to match the leather flexsteel.

What a great looking coach. Looks like a real keeper. Sounds like you've been working hard on her. We have an 86 345 that we LOVE and spend a ton of time fixing her up - but that's part of the fun. Seems like there are more and more 345 owners on this forum.

Ours just turned 168,000 miles this week (in Buffalo NY by the way)...but she is still a strong runner. 2700 miles on this last trip and averaged 8.4 MPG.

We're new owners too (July) and this forum has been great for advice and help.

Speaking of a rally....what ever happened to holding a Mid-Western, South-Eastern MH rally? I'm dying to see all of these MH's lined up next to each other soon!

Subject Armstrong A/C

Fred the A/Cis factory installed , after a lot of no we cannot help , I came across ACME their reply was we know exatly what youy have & can supply all compontes & hoses. made apponitment went there pick up all , had hoses made, return home & installed. ACME radiator & air conditioning is @ 17103 state road 4 east goshen, IN 46526 (800 552 2263 or 219 534 1516. they were great they can handle all A/C ? . WWW.ACMEAIR.COM

I have noticed that many of the 345's on the forum have white tops...is this and add on or that particular year's color? I have some severe oxidation of my alum. and was considering all my options before I begin...please respond with any advice....Mr. D.

I think that the photos may be misleading...shiny silver looking like white.
There are some coaches with painted white roofs, and it is probably a good thing to do especially in the hotter, sunny climates.
Just yesterday another 280 owner and I were talking about doing this with marine paint to keep to roof cooler.
The options are the white, paint it silver, strip it and reseal, or strip and polish. If the clearcoat is not peeling any of there will work, if it peeling you will have to strip well before doing any refinish.

Alan and I while looking down from his window above the driveway talked about my plan to paint the top of my coach. I'm about ready to start too. I plan to do it in sections so as to work in the cool of the morning before the sun heats up the aluminum and me to the point of being unworkable. Wish I had a shop with a 14' door. My plan is to paint the roof, have my local Dupont rep shoot the bottom with the factory Imron color and then.... maybe get to finish the upper sides and lower roof in MirraChrome from Alsa. I'd rather paint it once than have to polish it time and time again....
