Land Yacht vs. Legacy (MH '92-'94)

It looks like these two models are very similar. The exterior looks the same except for the paint scheme. Is there a difference in features or floorplan? The Legacy was made from 92-94. The Land Yacht started in 1990 (although some may have been built and sold in 89) and still is in production today.

Fred,

I don't see much of a diffrence in the models. It seems to me that the legacy may not have had some to the upscale trim that was available on the Land Yacht. Most of the land yachts seem to have corian, and leather. The legacy seems to have fabric and formica.

Here is a link to one they call a legacy but if you look close the side of the coach at the rear says land yacht???

Also in doing some research it seems that the Legacy were front engine and the land yacht of the time were diesel pushers??

Brett,

These are great examples. I don't put some on my site because I can't verify the accuracy. See below.

http://www.rvtraderonline.com/cadde.../8/29699738.htm
NADA does not list a 34' Land Yacht. This probably is a 34' Legacy. My hunch is every MH made is a Land Yacht something...

http://www.rvtraderonline.com/addetail.html?30556758
Ad says 34' LY but NADA does not list a 34' for that year.

http://adcache.rvtraderonline.com/3/3/2/30137432.htm
NADA does not have any 30' models for that year.

I have the NADA model list and I'm trying to find good examples of each model listed. These may exists since the factories build and date them as they wish. Kinda like buying a 2003 car in August of 2002! I'm also going to work on a Airstream-Thor conversion table when I have tons of time!

Hopefully this discussion will bring in more of the later model MH's which we seem to lack.

Just thinking out loud here, but could our lack of newer model owners be due to the folks who buy the newer ones have the dealer do the work and keep them from having all the fun we have?

Or is there a diffrent segment of Motorhome owners that purchase the newer style that somehow need to be approached?

I do not know many RV owners who don't tinker with or fix things on their own units, and even look for others to fix when they are bored (AKA as Peter).
