Kelly Tires for MH....any thoughts?

I was checking around town for tire prices to replace my two front tires. A local shop has Kelly Power King tires for $341.42 including installation although they don't balance them but put some kind of equalizer in the tire rather than balancing. The price is much better than Michelin tires.

I did check the other forums (that's not a crime you know! ) and could find nothing but good things about the tires and the prices.

I was checking only 8 R 19.5 sized tires.
I also read that Kelly is owned by Goodyear.

Anyone else have Kelly tires on their MH? Satisfied?

Fred,
On my 1986 345, it has Bridgestone all the way around and I believe they have been installed for approx. 5 years. I had one that came apart on a trip to TN a few weeks back but it was a Michelin. Could not find any Bridgestone at the time so replaced with a Goodyear for around 195.00. The tread, body side walls all look very good and when I had the Goodyear installed, I had the dealer in TN check the Bridgestones on the vehicle and he said they were in good shape. May check prices on Bridgestone. Jim

Take a look at Cooper Tires. I run them on my SOB motorhome and am pleased. ......Steve

I just put on 4 akurets and they seem to be fine 2000 miles later. The 4 I didn't change are kellys.

I did a lot of shopping and paid $204.00 each, including mounting and balance, for a set of eight 225/70R19.5 Goodyear G670 RV tires. I like these very much!

My experience has been a poor one with Kelly Tires.
I lost 2 Kelly tires on a long trip with my fully loaded 1 ton van.
The size was 245/70R16 E-load rating.
The tires were properly inflated and were fairly new.
Kelly ( made and owned by Good Year) replaced them with Goodyear Wrangler HT tires under warranty.
I would buy Goodyear or Michelin tires over Kelly. Under teh same conditions, the GoodYear tires definitely performed much better.
