How do you add brake fluid to a 1988 345

I can see my master cylinder but getting to it and adding fluid looks almost impossible, is there a simple method?

No. You can remove the sheet metal or play with a turkey baster and mirror.

That's what it looked like to me but I was hoping for better news, I guess having the system flushed might be a good idea for more than one reason. Thanks for the info., Mr. D.

My old van had an access plate in the floor board. If you don't have one maybe you should add one.

Amazing my AS is 18 yrs younger and has the same problem, when i had problems and checked on the fluid, found a totally unacceptable situation that wouldn't be solved with a simple flush, using a mirror and paper towels had to wipe out the main storage tank. I had many autos and none ever looked like it, turns out recent changes to fluids makes them fail faster, new recommendations are to flush every few years.

If it looks like you need fluid but there are no leaks in the system, it might be time to replace the pads and shoes. The volume of fluid equals the amount of friction material that has been used.
If you are handy, you can use a hand operated vacuum pump and do the change yourself. Have an assistant add fluid with a skinny funnel with a section of hose attached as you vacuum it through. Start at the wheel cylinder furthest away, (RR) then LR, Pass Frt, Drv Frt.
Taking it to a shop wont break the bank either.

Funnel

Just recently bled the brakes on my 84 345
I removed the engine cover and used one of thoes long 2" funnels you can get at the auto parts store
YA it still was a little messy

I removed the sheet metal shield and cut it in half. I welded a flange at the joint to connect the two halves together. Now by just removing a few easily accessible bolts I can remove the rear portion of the shield to have easy access to the master cylinder. Makes life easier.
