Thanx for the pic, Brett. Same bags as mine.
Just FYI, the arrow points at the nut for adjusting the bag inflation. Comes in handy for leveling the MH from side to side.

Your FYI just added a to do to my list. The Drivers side sits an inch lower than the passengers side. I figured it was just due to all the tanks being on one side.

Welded (Daubed) Control Arm

The close ups by Brett and Alan exhibit similar phenomenons as the '87:

Really bad welds in the middle of the link arms.

In addition, mine makes a 90-degree bend at the bottom, and the factory simply bent a threaded portion of the rod to make the connection instead of a proper control spacer.

Poor engineering and fabrication methods by anyone's standard.

Pretty much everything else on the system seems to be quality construction and well thought out. I always thought the funky control arm linkage was the result of some jack-leg mechanic repair.

Wally would be upset.

I thought the same thing. Someone did a poor repair or was using this part as a welding training class I noticed that I am missing one bushing on one of the arms. Any idea where to get one?

Because of the semi custom way they were built there was probably a lot of weight variation at the corners. It would be pretty easy to level it the way they did it- air it up, adjust until it was right, clamp and weld. Not saying it is right, just cheap and quick.

Hear ya, Dennis. Having two of these on my rig, I would spent hours laying under there and staring in awe at those rods.
Brett, those bushing on my linkage were close to failing. You can look for grommets at the parts store or use a slice of a rubber hose. Then use new bolts with locknuts.

my bags are not mounted that way...I will get a photo to post later if the weather is ok. My line runs from the tank (small mounted inside the compartment where the hose and a/c connections are), to a valve where two lines then go to the bags.
The bags are mounted either side of the frame towards the center of the bus. The leveling arm is touchng the floor of the coach and then meets the valve where the air lines come together.
When I pulled off the input lines I could feel air coming thru from the portable compressor. When I pulled off the lines coming from the bags they deflated totally. Now after a few days they are still inflated and higher on the bell than I have had them before.

I hope you guys get this all figured out! I don't even know if my 24 footer has air bags or not. Been too busy on the topside. Reckon I'll look tomorrow. Keep up the good work.
