Heater core, Door handle, Lower Radiator hose.

Hey again.
I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post this...
I have several immediate needs for my new motorhome. Hoping you all might can direct me.
1. The heater core has 5 leaks and needs to be replaced. Where can I get one?
2. Best source for radiator hoses? (need lower).
3. Exterior entry door handle - paddle part - is broken due to attempted break in. Should I relace the whole thing or can I get it apart enough to replace just the paddle? Where would I find one?
4. I have removed the jackknife sofas and plan to replace the front one with a custom sized sleep sofa and the rear one with a dinette setup. Does anybody need the jackknife sofas? or parts?
Should I keep them to retain originality capability for the unit?

I'm currently scouring the Good will stores for a sleeper sofa frame to cannabalize. If anybody has thoughts on that. I tried to order a new frame from Sealy, but they won't sell just the guts.

The sofa has been discussed at length, of course I can't find the thread now. Have you considered a futon? Or a mattress for a futon?

I tried NAPA for the hoses and succeeded with the top one but they could not locate the lower one in the book. I was telling them P30 chasis. Did I read that I should be saying P32?

Andy did not have a door handle on his available parts list, but I will call to inquire. Thanks.

After I removed the front sofa, I noticed the water heater lives under the far left side of it. So, my plan is to construct a sofa that covers the entire length even over the water heater - but - install the sleeper sofa frame offset to the right so that it tucks in as close as it can without hitting the water heater. There is 5 feet of clearance behind the driver's seat before hitting the water heater. I plan to enclose the heater in a plywood box with that tinfoil insulated board inside. (Is that ok to do?) So it will look like a full length sofa but only the right 3/4 of it will fold out to the bed. Hence the search for a 5 foot hideabed.

I hate making up the bed every night when I am just ready to crash. So, I figure I can leave the bed made up on the hideabed and just deploy it with little effort. The flop house effect.

I will look for the sofa thread.

I plan on constructing a traditional rear dinette seat and folding table top. I have removed the booze compartment and plan on using the available floor space to the front of the table for come type of nice barrell chair. That way I can turn to the table to eat or rotate to the front and be sort of in the living room. This being a 24' unit requires some creativity for maximizing space.

Great idea on the sofa. I just got a 77 similar to yours with a rear bath and was thinking about the hassel of making/breaking the bed. I also will start searching for the fouton thread.

The dinet is a good idea also, but have a 14 year old boy that needs a place to sleep, and Teresa insists he has to sleep inside)

Buck, that "wasted" space up front of the motor home has always had me thinking of ways to use it. Why not rig up a cot to go between the two front seats for the 14 year old?

I have a compromise idea. Make the forward seat at the dinette look like a traditional dinette seat that converts to support the bed etc, BUT customize it so that you can flip flop the back/seat assembly so that it will face forward if you want it too. I'll get to work on it.

One remaining obstacle in my hideabed porgram is the design of something on the facing wall to support the TV and otherwise look attractive when the bed is not deployed. It will either have to be skinny or will have to fold down and/or away because the bed will deploy almost all the way to the far wall. Probably should hang a big plasma TV hinged from the ceiling betwee the two front seats!!

Do we have a spell checker or do I have to continue looking stewpid?

In the early 70's Argosy MH's there was a flip over dinette that they used for A dinette, a Bed, and the passenger seat.

The rear bench was fixed, the front one flipped and the table was post mounted. A cool use of space.
