Where can I get the chrome centers and caps for the 8R19.5 Aluminum wheels I have on my Classic 345. Where can I get the Airstream centers that stick to the center of the hub cap?
try your airstream dealer . isaw those stick on at the country store at jackson center last time i was there . but they will only sell to your smiling face no telephone orders. lol

Finally found these things! They are made by Wheel Masters. They have a kit that includes the front 5 lugs and the drive 10 lugs. All stainless and comes with the lug covers as well. They sell the tag kit seperately.
FYI ---There are two dealers who sell the 19.5" stainless steel wheel covers (simulators) on EBAY for 169 or so a set of four. No AIrstream logo, but inexpensive to replace all 4.
Do a search there for 19.5 wheel to pull them up.

I have not ordered these myself yet. Based on the info on their website the kit (front and rear) is for 19.5 Alcoa wheels on a P30...5 lug fronts and ten lug rears. You would need to order an additional pair of ten lug rears for the tags.

You can buy the kit from Camping World for $379.00 or $341.10 if you are a CW President's Club Member. When you call ask for the Tech Department when you call as they are a special order item.
I've just been thru a 4 month nightmare trying to get replacement "Simulators" for my Alcoa aluminum motorhome wheels. It was a total misunderstanding of terminology, mostly on my part. But, hopefully, the following will save you a similar ordeal.
There is a BIG difference between wheel liners, wheel covers, axle covers and lug nut covers, to wit:
Wheel liners (rear) and wheel covers (front) are a large (19.5"+/-diameter) "hub cap" intended to mount on steel wheels to "Simulate" aluminum wheels.
Axle covers are a small (5.5"+/-diameter) "hub cap" intended to cover the center portion (axle/bearing) of aluminum wheels (rear is about 5.5" deep and front is about 1.5" deep).
Lug nut covers slip on over steel lugs nuts to "Simulate" aluminum nuts.
Got it now? So much for the lecture, here's some other stuff to consider:
1) If anybody really wants to buy "simulators" for their steel wheels, PM me and I'll send you all the Airstream part numbers and prices.
2) The "simulators" on e-bay are apparently for steel wheels and the price sounds to good to be true ($169 vs. about $800 from Airstream) - Caveat Emptor!
3) It seems like the pros here are on the right track for finding the axle covers we really need for our Classic Alcoa aluminum wheels. Thanks Steven, Alan, et al.
4) If ordering lug nut covers from Wheelmasters, measure the the O.D. first. Part # 8010 is for 1" GM & Chevys. Part # 8011 is for 1-1/16" Ford AND all other lug nuts with swivel washer!

I have 1 1/16 swivel nuts all the way around on the '87. I say that they are 1 1/16" 'cause a 1" socket will not fit, while a 1 1/16 will, but with a bit of slop. Any chance they might require a metric socket? Another question, I guess, are they actually 1", and my socket(s) are forged on the small side?
I also ordered a set of nut covers from Wheel Master. They fit perfectly, but are made of plastic.
Just wondering if the consensus is that this swivel wheel nut is stock, or added by a PO.
I'm inferring from jthew1's post that his wheel nuts are non-swivel 1". (Sorry in advance if I misunderstood.)
I'd appreciate input from all you 345 jockeys out there, especially if we can get a range of years to respond.

Yep, they said that in the Navy, too But, since John apparently never heard this, he helped me fix the URL's in my previous post. Check them out, there's more information than you ever wanted to know in the Alcoa "Wheel Specification and Fitment Guide".

It's unlikely they are metric - more likely, you need a new set of sockets (not from Harbour Freight)

Probably chrome plated ABS like the Alcoa "Hug-A-Lug" P/N 000190. What is the Wheelmaster P/N?

I think when all the ballots are in, we're going to find that everyone with "hub piloted" aluminum wheels has the stock "swivel" type wheel nut (versus cone seat nut for "stud located" wheels).

My fault. They are a 1-1/16", hex head, 2 piece flange nut (nut and attached "swivel" washer) with 5/8" X 18 TPI RH threads - Alcoa P/N 039946.

Ditto. That's my 2 cents worth on the 86 - 345. I'll keep "lurking".
In reply to the size of the lug nuts: My 1988 345 has 1 1/16" nuts with the swivel base. It is on the P30 chassis 5 lugs front, 10 lugs rear.
What does the "kit" consist of? Is that $300.00+ price per wheel?
I guess I will call and find out on my own if I can get a round to it.
I never seem to have all the information together at the right time to call.
